Mark Farnan has extensive work experience in the software development industry. Mark began their career as a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Communications Research from September 1987 to May 1994. Mark then joined Computer Sciences Corporation as a Senior Software Engineer from June 1994 to September 1996, where they were recognized for their development of a reusable reformatting tool. Since joining Vectorworks in September 1996, Mark has held various roles, including Software Engineer, Software Engineering Manager, Director of Software Development, and Director of Systems Development. In their most recent role as Vice President of Systems starting in March 2023, Mark is responsible for overseeing the systems development process and managing a team of software engineers and managers. Mark has contributed greatly to the development of a CAD/BIM application with a large user base worldwide.
Mark Farnan received their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from West Virginia Wesleyan College between 1981 and 1985. Mark then went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in Computer Science at Virginia Tech from 1985 to 1987. Before their college years, they attended Queen Anne School from 1976 to 1981.
