Steve Derby

Steve Derby is the current QA Supervisor at Vedanta Biosciences. Prior to their current position, Steve worked as a Senior Manufacturing Associate at Merrimack Pharmaceuticals from March 2010 to March 2017. In this role, Steve was responsible for purification activities such as column packing, chromatography, viral filtration, UF/DF, and method editing. Steve also spearheaded troubleshooting, investigation, and root cause analysis of process problems in a cGMP environment.

From January 2006 to February 2010, Steve worked as a Manufacturing Associate at Amgen. In this role, they were responsible for overall responsibility for cell culture expansion steps, bioreactor operations, clarification, depth filtration, and media preparation. Steve also utilized their strong leadership and mentoring skills to coach and train associates to deliver production objectives.

Steve began their career as a Manufacturing Associate at Sulzer Joint Venture from May 2004 to September 2004. In this role, they were responsible for facilitating suite shutdown, changeover, and cleaning protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

Steve Derby has a BS in Biology from Providence College. Steve also has a certification from LinkedIn in Become a Manager.
