Michelle Lau

Michelle Lau has a diverse work experience spanning across various industries. Michelle started their career as a Staff Accountant at KPMG in 2012 before moving on to work as an Investment Banking Analyst at Bank of Montreal Capital Markets in 2013. In the same year, they also worked as a Management Consultant at Oliver Wyman. Michelle continued working at Oliver Wyman in 2014 and held the positions of Consultant and later Senior Consultant until 2017. In 2017, they became a Product Manager at Plooto, a seed-funded online payment management system for SMBs. Michelle then joined Funding Circle UK in 2018 as a Product Manager, where they contributed to peer-to-peer lending marketplace operations. In 2019, they became the Head of Product at Veeqo, a company that helps SMB multichannel ecommerce retailers with inventory management and order fulfillment. Finally, in 2021, Veeqo was acquired by Amazon, and Michelle transitioned into the role of Head of Product (Veeqo) at Amazon.

Michelle Lau attended the University of Waterloo, where they pursued a Bachelor of Mathematics degree. Michelle also participated in a joint school summer exchange program in Beijing with Peking University through The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), focusing on Finance and Economics. Additionally, Michelle completed a summer exchange program in Nice at Université Côte d'Azur, with a diploma in French Studies.
