During this time, they gained experience in various roles within the Royal Netherlands Airforce, from Officer to Head of the Fire Department.

In 2011, Arie van Dooijeweert joined Veiligheidsregio Gelderland-Zuid, where they took on the position of Education and Training Specialist within the Regional Fire Department. Arie later became the Head of the Department, a role they have held since 2013.

Arie then attended the Fire Academy (IFV) from 2009 to 2010, focusing on Specialist Education and training. From 2010 to 2011, Arie attended the Fire Academy (IFV) once more, this time studying Battalion Chief (District Chief). In 2012, they briefly attended the Royal Military Academy, although the degree obtained is unknown. Later on, from 2013 to 2017, they attended SDO Hogeschool voor Moderne Bedrijfskunde, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration (BBA). Their most recent education was completed at the Netherlands Defence College in 2019-2020, where they obtained an Intermediate Command and Staff Course degree, specializing in MDV DT 19A.
