Roel Somers

Roel Somers is an experienced entrepreneur and design engineer with a strong background in industrial design engineering. As the founder and designer at DE SOM.nl since June 2022, Roel combines a passion for design with business acumen to produce unique furniture and interior products. In the role of Design Engineer at Vekoma Rides since October 2015, Roel focuses on creating innovative and ergonomic trains to enhance passenger experiences. Previous experience includes founding Fixyouriphone.nl, where Roel managed iPhone parts sales and repair services, and serving as a student assistant at TU Delft, supporting courses in product dynamics and modeling. Roel holds a Master of Science in Integrated Product Design and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design Engineering, both from Delft University of Technology.
