Thomas Schwarz

Thomas Schwarz is currently the Head of Laboratory Operations at VelaLabs GmbH, overseeing multiple laboratory units and leading a team of over 60 colleagues. Thomas previously held positions as the Head of Microbiology at the Medical University of Vienna and as a Senior Clinical Research Scientist at various companies. Thomas has a diverse educational background, holding degrees in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology, Biomathematics, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology, as well as Biotechnology and IT & Organization. Their research experience includes projects on molecular characterization, genetic diagnostics, and lipid metabolism modulation. Thomas also has experience in small business ownership and custom ERP system development.
