Cates Mallaney

Cates Mallaney currently serves as the SVP of Life Science Services at Velsera, where responsibilities include overseeing project management and bioinformatics teams, improving operational practices, establishing strategic pricing processes, and collaborating across departments to align business opportunities with corporate strategies. Prior to this role, Cates held multiple positions at PierianDx, including Vice President of Customer Success, where efforts focused on client satisfaction, team expansion, and onboarding efficiency. Cates began a career in academia as a PhD Scientist at Washington University in St. Louis, contributing to research in hematopoiesis and authoring numerous scientific papers, and has also gained experience in education and tutoring services. Cates holds a PhD in Human and Statistical Genetics from Washington University, complemented by a Master's in Genetic Epidemiology and a Bachelor's in Genetics.
