Chris Hendel

Chris Hendel is an experienced technology professional currently serving as Co-founder and CTO at Velvet since May 2023. Prior to this, Chris founded Prioritized and operated as a fractional CTO from January 2019 to May 2023, specializing in software engineering for high-growth startups. Chris led engineering and design teams at Athos as Technical PM and Engineering Lead from November 2017 to December 2018, and managed engineering teams at MongoDB as Technical Product Manager from October 2016 to November 2017. Earlier experience includes roles as a software engineer at Pebble Tech and Dell EMC, with a full-time co-op position completed while earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2011 to 2015.
