Tom Richter

As Regional Vice President Tom provides direction to several venue locations managed by VenuWorks for which he serves as the primary corporate liaison to both clients and the venue management staff. Previously he served as executive director of the Swiftel Center in Brookings, SD for twenty years under VenuWorks management, where he earned a reputation for his aggressive programming of top music artists, sports tournaments, and large-scale equestrian and livestock shows. Tom earned his bachelor’s (1988) in agriculture education and master’s (1990) in counseling and human resource development from SDSU. He was a member of the SDSU Rodeo Team and president of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. Tom was employed by SDSU from 1990 to 1998 as an instructor in the College of Agriculture and Biological Sciences. He was also the SDSU Rodeo coach from 1988-98. Tom participated as a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association from 1987-2001 and has served as the Badlands Circuit President of the PRCA since 1994.
