Tom Simpson has a strong background in the oil and gas industry, with experience in various roles and responsibilities. Tom started their career as a Coring Engineer at Corpro in 2006, where they ensured equipment functionality and selected appropriate tools for specific conditions. Tom later became a Coring Coordinator, overseeing coring services for different clients and managing relations between partners. In 2011, Tom joined Baker Hughes as the North Asia Coring Manager, where they developed solutions, coordinated logistics, and executed technical proposals. Tom then worked as a Consultant for Corsyde International on an ad-hoc basis, providing industry expertise and advising on core bit design. Tom continued their career at Schlumberger/ADIL as a Technical Lead, delivering technical sections of proposals and tenders. Tom later became the Surface & PM Tender and Commercial Manager, responsible for managing the commercial team and the tender process. In 2020, Tom joined British Steel as the Export Sales - Bid and Office Manager, and they currently work at Veolia as the Commercial Manager, with a future role as Head of Commercial starting in 2023. Tom also pursued post-graduate studies at Robert Gordon University in 2015.
Tom Simpson has a Master's Degree in Oil and Gas Engineering from Robert Gordon University, earned from 2015 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate's Degree in Mathematics from The University of Edinburgh, from 2004 to 2006.
