Mike Howes started their work experience in 1999 as a Website Designer and Writer at the U.S. Department of State. Mike then worked as a Technical Writer at Dell EMC from 2000 to 2011, where they developed documentation for various storage and network management applications. Mike also spent five years documenting the flagship software product, EMC ControlCenter. From 2011 to 2014, Mike worked at NetApp as a Principal Technical Writer, supporting three scrum teams. Mike then moved on to Simplivity, where they worked as a Principal Technical Writer from 2014 to 2017, developing documentation for hyperconverged servers. At Nuance Communications, they worked as a Senior Technical Writer from 2017 to 2019, developing documentation for speech products. Currently, Mike works at Veracode as a Principal Technical Writer, where they are involved in authoring in a docs-as-code environment and leading migration projects.
