Yang Chen is Verisk’s head of corporate development and strategy, responsible for developing and implementing corporate strategies across all Verisk businesses to drive growth and returns. She works closely with the senior management team to develop capital allocation plans and long-term strategic themes for the company and identify new business opportunities in support of those themes.
Yang leads Verisk’s mergers and acquisitions, investment, and strategic partnership activities globally. She ensures that Verisk generates good returns on invested capital with acquisitions that increase revenue in our vertical markets and introduce our solution sets in new geographies. Yang’s ongoing focus is finding the best mix of data analytic innovations and strong acquisition partners for continued company growth and customer expansion.
Yang joined Verisk in 2013 as vice president, Corporate Development and Strategy, and began implementing partnership- and acquisition-based growth strategies that would guide years of significant expansion. During her tenure, she has identified and led the acquisitions of companies across the globe that integrate well with Verisk solutions, expand our international presence in key markets, and enhance our advanced technology capabilities.
Before joining Verisk, Yang was an executive director in J.P. Morgan’s Investment Banking group, focusing on technology, media, and telecom clients. She advised major corporations in the United States and overseas on mergers and acquisitions transactions and capital raising.
Yang holds a BA in economics from Columbia University.
