Miguel Ángel Martínez Calvo

Miguel Ángel Martínez Calvo has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Miguel Ángel is currently the Director IoT & IT Platforms for Verisure, where they oversee operations in South Europe and LATAM. Miguel Ángel is also the Global Head of Agile Transformation, focusing on improving technology work models and accelerating value delivery.

Prior to their current role, Miguel worked at Sanitas as the Director of Software Development, leading the development for areas such as insurance, digital, and global services. Miguel Ángel played a crucial role in managing technology during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier in their career, Miguel held positions at Verisure Securitas Direct, ING España&Portugal, everis, and Repsol. Their roles included IT management, project management, and senior analysis. Notably, Miguel contributed to the adoption of Agile methodologies and the improvement of digital banking platforms.

In addition to their industry experience, Miguel is also a Professor at IEBS Business School, where they share their expertise with students.

Miguel Ángel Martínez Calvo completed their Bachelor's degree in Information Technology with a focus on Informatics management at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid from 2000 to 2004. In 2015 and 2016, they pursued a Master's degree in Information Systems Management and Business Technology at IMF Smart Education. Most recently, in 2022, they obtained a certification in Digital Product Management from the University of Virginia. Additionally, Miguel Ángel has obtained several other certifications, including Certified SAFe® 4 Agilist from Scaled Agile, Inc. in 2019, a basic Digital Marketing course from Actívate con Google in 2016, and a certification as a Sun Java SE 1.5 Programmer from Sun Microsystems in 2006.
