Shankar Arumugavelu

Shankar Arumugavelu is a highly experienced executive in the telecommunications sector, currently serving as Executive Vice President and President of Verizon Global Services, a position held since October 2010. Arumugavelu has progressed through various significant roles at Verizon, including Senior Vice President and Global CIO, Senior Vice President and CIO for both VCM and Wireless, and multiple senior leadership positions focused on consumer and business services. Prior to these roles, Arumugavelu served as Senior Vice President at Verizon Telecom and Business, Senior Vice President and CIO at Verizon Telecom, and Executive Director at Verizon Data Services. Earlier in the career, Arumugavelu held the position of Director at GTE. Arumugavelu holds an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of South Florida and a B.E. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy.
