State Archivist & Chief Records Officer at State of Vermont

Tanya Marshall serves as the State Archivist and Chief Records Officer for the State of Vermont, a position held since November 2003, overseeing strategic planning, program development, and public relations for the Vermont State Archives and Records Administration. Previous roles included Deputy State Archivist and Assistant State Archivist, where Tanya led records management program initiatives and established essential appraisal programs. Tanya's experience spans various institutions including the Smithsonian Institution Archives and the University of Maryland, where significant contributions to electronic records management and archival accessibility were made. Educationally, Tanya holds a Ph.D. student status in Information Science/Information Management, a Master’s in Library and Information Science, and a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from SUNY Geneseo, complemented by a certificate in Fund Development.
