Cristian Torres

Cristian Torres has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Cristian currently serves on the Board of Directors at First Tee-Phoenix, where they provide direction and oversight to ensure the organization's adherence to its mission. Prior to this, they were the SVP, Deputy General Counsel at Verra Mobility, where they provided strategic guidance and legal support for the Commercial Services Business Unit. Cristian also worked as an Associate General Counsel at Carvana. From 2010 to 2021, Cristian held the position of Assistant General Counsel, Sales & Marketing at Volkswagen Group of America, where they provided legal advice and expertise to senior management and played a lead role in managing a legal and regulatory crisis. Cristian also had a stint at Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., where they served as a Manager for Network Development at the Infiniti Business Unit and as Senior Counsel for Market Representation. Cristian'searly career includes work as an Associate at Latham & Watkins, focusing on litigation in areas such as intellectual property, employment law, and white-collar crime.

Cristian Torres attended Joplin High School from 1988 to 1991. Cristian then went on to Harvard University from 1991 to 1995, where they earned their A.B. degree in History. After that, they attended the University of Chicago from 1996 to 1999, where they obtained their J.D. degree in Law. Additionally, they hold certifications that allow him to practice law in California and Tennessee and a corporate counsel certificate in Virginia.
