Chris Ajemian

Program Officer, Agriculture Innovation at Verra

As Program Officer, Chris supports the Agriculture Innovation team in developing, reviewing, and revising VCS agricultural methodologies, concept notes, and procedures. Additionally, he interacts with external stakeholders regarding questions about VCS rules, methodologies, and project development related to agricultural land management (ALM) or livestock management activities.

Before joining Verra, Chris worked as a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist and Researcher with SREO Consulting. During that time, he evaluated humanitarian aid initiatives and specialized in smallholder agriculture, livelihoods, and emergency assistance in Syria, Iraq, Mali, and Venezuela. Before this, he worked as a Sustainable Agriculture Coordinator in the Peruvian Andes with Natures Intent LLC and Organic Sierra y Selva. In that role, he researched, coordinated, and oversaw smallholder value-chains of organic Andean grains for the international wholesale market.

Chris holds a Master’s in Environment & Development with a specialization in ecology and agriculture from the University of Copenhagen. In addition, Chris has a Master’s in International Relations with Honors from the University of Edinburgh. He lives in Copenhagen, Denmark.
