Principal Engineer at Versa Networks

Rahul Jain, Ph.D has a wealth of experience in various roles and companies. Rahul'smost recent role was as a Principal Engineer at Versa Networks, where they led a project to design and implement the in-line DLP security feature. Rahul also worked on an IoT project to identify and provide threat analysis for connected devices on the network. Additionally, Rahul designed and implemented a finite state machine for auto-discovering Versa boxes and worked on enhancing and optimizing the in-house TCP stack.

Prior to Versa Networks, Rahul was a Technical Lead at Cisco, where they worked on enabling L3 multicast protocol on the N9K ACI solution. Rahul was responsible for developing the test infrastructure in Python for testing PIM and managing the VxLAN related code in the L2 module.

Before Cisco, Rahul worked at Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. as a Staff Software Engineer. During their tenure, they were involved in four complete product cycles in Data Center Ethernet technology, where they designed and developed software modules and added enhancements to existing modules. These enhancements ranged from new feature requests to performance improvements.

Rahul's early career includes research experience as a PhD candidate at New Jersey Institute of Technology. Rahul'sresearch focused on designing and implementing Split TCP in the Linux kernel. Rahul completed their PhD in August 2007 and worked as a Research Assistant at the Internet Laboratory during their time at NJIT.

Rahul Jain, Ph.D has a strong educational background in computer science and computer networks. Rahul obtained their Master's degree in Computer Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where they studied from 2000 to 2002. Following their Master's degree, Rahul Jain pursued their Ph.D. in Computer Networks at the same institution, completing their doctoral studies from 2002 to 2007.
