John Buckwalter

John Buckwalter has over 30 years of work experience, with their most recent role as VP Tax and Treasury at Versum Materials from 2018 to January 2020. John was responsible for managing global income tax accounting and reporting, transfer pricing, and identifying opportunities to lower the global effective tax rate. Prior to that, they worked at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. for almost two decades as VP Corporate Tax, where they designed tax planning strategies and led M&A tax structuring. John also played a key role in repositioning the company by efficiently disposing of $7 billion of real estate. Before that, they worked at Deloitte as a Sr Manager Tax Advisory Services.

John Buckwalter attended Eastern Mennonite University from 1984 to 1988, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Accounting and Business Administration.
