David Bishop

David Bishop serves as the Disease Area Executive and VP Global Commercial at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, overseeing the Sickle Cell Disease and Beta-Thalassemia therapeutic areas since July 2019. Prior to this role, David was the New Product Planning Lead at Spark Therapeutics, where efforts focused on enhancing patient access in gene therapy development. David's extensive experience at Bristol-Myers Squibb includes leadership positions in product portfolio and access strategy, business unit management, and commercialization across oncology, cardiovascular, and metabolic frameworks. Academic credentials include an MBA in Marketing Strategy from the USC Marshall School of Business and a BS in Biological Sciences from the University of Notre Dame.
