Timothy Senter

Timothy Senter is an accomplished medicinal chemist with extensive experience in both academia and industry. Currently serving as Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Vertex Pharmaceuticals since October 2016, Timothy has progressed through various roles including Principal Scientist and Senior Research Scientist. Prior to Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Timothy was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, contributing to bioconjugation methods under Dr. Stephen Buchwald. Timothy's academic journey includes graduate studies at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where research focused on organic synthesis and chemical biology in Dr. Craig Lindsley’s lab. Timothy earned a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, specializing in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Vanderbilt University, following a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from St. Lawrence University.
