Yao Jiang

Yao Jiang is a highly experienced scientist currently serving as a Research Competitive Intelligence Principal Scientist at Vertex Pharmaceuticals since January 2024. Prior to this role, Yao held several positions at PTC Therapeutics, Inc., including Senior Scientist, where key contributions included advancing the understanding of structure-activity relationships for SCA3 and optimizing lead compounds. Yao also played a significant role in the development of a candidate for Huntington's Disease, currently in Phase II. Earlier experience includes work as a Scientist II and a Scientific Student Worker at GSK, along with research contributions during a Ph.D. program at Boston University, where innovative methods such as the catalytic asymmetric Petasis allylation reaction were developed. Yao Jiang holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science from Xiamen University, with early research efforts focusing on synthesizing γ-[18O4]-ATP for kinase assays.
