Sr. Onderzoeker Binnen De Onderzoeksgroep Maatschappelijke Participatie at Verwey-Jonker Instituut

Marjolein Odekerken is a senior researcher, project leader, and advisor at Kennisplatform Inclusief Samenleven since May 2018, contributing to a pluralistic and stable society through research and insights. Concurrently, Marjolein serves as a senior researcher within the research group Social Participation at the Verwey-Jonker Instituut. With a focus on social and criminological issues, Marjolein operates an independent research and consulting firm, specializing in the threats faced by journalists and press freedom. Marjolein also teaches Hatha yoga and is affiliated with the Association of Yoga Teachers in the Netherlands. Prior engagements include a doctoral candidate in Criminology at the Montaigne Center for Legal Studies and Conflict Resolution at Utrecht University, as well as numerous research projects addressing the challenges journalists face. Educational qualifications include a Doctorate in Criminology and multiple degrees from Utrecht University, alongside a Bachelor's Degree in Yoga.
