Alison Williams

Vice President, Business Development & Licensing at Vesalius Therapeutics

Alison Williams has extensive work experience in the field of business development and licensing, as well as bioentrepreneurship and scientific research. Alison is currently serving as the Vice President of Business Development & Licensing at Vesalius Therapeutics, a position they have held since March 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Director of Business Development & Licensing at the same company starting in July 2022.

Before joining Vesalius Therapeutics, Alison worked at Axcella, where they held various roles in corporate development between December 2020 and June 2022, including the positions of Senior Director and Director of Corporate Development, as well as Manager and Associate in Business Development. Alison joined Axcella in November 2013.

Alison also gained experience as an Entrepreneurial Fellow at Flagship Pioneering in June 2013, and as a Lecturer on Bioentrepreneurship at Harvard University from January 2012 to January 2013.

Alison'sscientific research career includes roles at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where they worked as a Research Associate from September 2010 to July 2012, and as a Research Fellow from September 2007 to September 2010. Additionally, they co-founded and served as the Chief Scientific Officer of Hibergenica from December 2009 to December 2010.

Alison began their career as a Scientist at GlaxoSmithKline from 2000 to 2001.

Alison Williams holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Harvard Business School. Prior to their MBA, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Pharmacology from King's College London. Alison also holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Pharmacology from Imperial College London.
