Gareth Cheeseman has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles.

Gareth started their career as an Assistant Museum Officer at South Lanarkshire Council in 2005 before moving on to work as a Freelance Researcher from 2006 to 2008.

Gareth then joined Historic Scotland and held multiple roles, including Interpretation Officer from 2008 to 2010, Interpretation Manager for Public Programmes from 2010 to 2011, and Interpretation Manager for Content-led Events from 2011 to 2012.

Afterwards, they worked as a Projects and Development Officer at The Architectural Heritage Fund from 2012 to 2014.

Gareth then transitioned to Historic Environment Scotland, where they served as a Cultural Significance Advisor from 2014 to 2015 and as a Technical Digital Content Manager for the Engine Shed project from 2015 to 2017.

In 2017, they joined Storm ID as a Web Test Analyst, primarily working on the development and maintenance of client web applications. Gareth stayed with the company until November 2019.

From 2019 to 2022, Gareth worked as a Senior QA Engineer at VETRO FiberMap®, and then joined Feedback Loop, a DISQO company, as a QA Engineer in 2022.

Most recently, they joined VETRO, Inc. in April 2023 as a Senior Software Engineer.

Gareth Cheeseman obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computing, IT and Statistics from The Open University from 2014 to 2017. Prior to that, they pursued a Master's degree in History of Design at the Royal College of Art from 2001 to 2003. Their undergraduate studies were completed at the University of Oxford, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from 1997 to 2000. Additionally, Gareth has obtained certifications in "Build Web APIs from Scratch" and "Build Front-End Web Apps from Scratch" from Codecademy in August 2018 and June 2018, respectively.
