Ryan Black

Ryan Black is a seasoned legal professional specializing in technology-related business law, particularly for consumer-facing technology companies. As a Partner and Co-Chair of Startups, Emerging Companies and Technology at DLA Piper since January 2020, Ryan assists clients in launching businesses, commercializing technologies, and navigating financing and exits. In addition to this role, Ryan is a Board Member of the Video Game Bar Association, a Director at both the Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society and Claren Academy, and served as a Business Law Clinic Adjunct at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC. Ryan’s past experience includes leadership roles at CIRA as Director and Chair of the Governance Committee, and significant tenure at McMillan LLP as Chief Technology Partner and Co-Chair of Video Games & Esports.
