Frans Johansson has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. In 2002, they authored "The Medici Effect," a book that explores how innovative ideas can emerge from the intersection of different fields. Starting in 2004, they worked as a speaker, delivering keynote speeches on diversity and inclusion driving innovation for companies like The Walt Disney Company, Google, and McKinsey & Company. In 2006, they founded and served as the CEO of The Medici Group, a consulting company that focused on diversity and inclusion in driving innovation for Global 2000 companies. During their time at The Medici Group, they developed key trade secrets and intellectual property, including the Smallest Executable Step and the Medici Diversity Leadership Index. In 2018, Johansson became a member of the Board of Trustees for the New York Hall of Science, an organization that promotes interactive and participatory learning. Currently, they are the founder and CEO of Via Renaissance (formerly the Medici Group), where they lead the vision, strategy, and capital raise for a change acceleration platform that enables organizations to adopt specific changes in behavior on a continual basis.

Frans Johansson pursued their education by first attending Brown University from 1991 to 1995, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Environmental Science. Frans furthered their academic journey by enrolling at Harvard Business School from 1998 to 2000, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Business Administration and Management, General. Additionally, Frans Johansson obtained a certification in "Navigating Environmental Sustainability: A Guide for Leaders" from LinkedIn in November 2021.
