Lorenz Wiedemann has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Lorenz started their career at Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) as a PHD Researcher in Economics, focusing on commodity prices from May 2014 to December 2016. Lorenz then joined McKinsey & Company in February 2012 as an Engagement Manager, specializing in Digital McKinsey and IoT projects related to industrial IoT, digital strategy, and future of mobility. During their tenure at McKinsey, they also worked in Munich, Berlin, and San Francisco. From 2018 onwards, Lorenz joined Via, where they held various positions including Strategy & Operations Principal, Director Operations DACH, Director Operations EMEA, Geschäftsführer, and currently serves as the Vice President of Operations.
Lorenz Wiedemann obtained their Allgemeine Hochschulreife from Otto-Kühne-Schule, Bad Godesberg in 2005. Lorenz then pursued their Dipl.-Ing. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Technical University of Munich from 2005 to 2011. In 2008, they had an exchange program at National University of Singapore, studying Industrial Engineering. Later, from 2014 to 2017, they achieved their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Economics from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
