Shawntee Milton has held a variety of positions in the finance and accounting industry since 2001. In 2001 and 2002, they interned for the Finance Manager at Walt Disney Imagineering, providing analytical support for the strategic plan, budget, and quarterly forecasts. In 2002, they were an Undergraduate Associate at Disney Consumer Products, using the NPD database to find relevant information about toy properties and preparing spreadsheets to analyze trends in toy property performance. In 2004, they were a Budget/ Business Analyst at the University of Southern California, managing sponsored project accounts, processing and monitoring expenditures for intercampus and external vendors, and working with principal investigators to develop projections. In 2006, they joined Loyola Marymount University as a Finance Specialist, and later became the Associate Director of Financial Planning and Budget Manager. In 2017, they became the Director of Fiscal Services at Victor Valley College, overseeing Budgeting, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounting, and the Bursar's Office. In 2021, they were appointed Assistant Superintendent, Business Services and Director of the Fiscal Services department at Victor Valley Union High School District, overseeing Payroll, Budgeting, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and Accounting.

Shawntee Milton attended Santa Monica College from 1999 to 2000, where they studied General Studies. Shawntee then attended the University of Southern California from 2000 to 2003, where they obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration and Management, General. In 2008, they obtained a Certified System Administrator from Longview Solutions.
