Forensic Medical Officer at Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine

Matt Ryan is an accomplished medical professional with extensive experience in emergency medicine and forensic medicine. Currently serving as the Director of Medical Services and Director of Emergency Medicine at Epworth since January 2016, Matt also holds positions as a Fellow at the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators and the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine. Additionally, Matt contributes to academia as a Clinical Associate Professor at Deakin University and is active in forensics as a Forensic Medical Officer for the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine and a Custodial Medical Officer for the Victoria Police Force. A Fellow of the Australasian College of Legal Medicine and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia, Matt has previously held significant roles in emergency medicine training at Mercy Health and the University of Notre Dame Australia. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, a Masters in Forensic Medicine, and a Masters in Health Services Management, complemented by a Diploma of Management.
