Fran Morente

Fran Morente is a professional with a distinguished career in the field of innovation and technology. He currently holds the position of Head of Innovation at VidaCaixa, the leading life insurance company in Spain, where he leads the management and strategy of innovation across three horizons, connecting with the innovation ecosystem and developing disruptive and transformational opportunities.

Regarding his academic background, Fran has completed various excellence programs in strategic innovation, inspirational leadership, and entrepreneurship at renowned institutions such as ESADE, MIT Sloan School of Management, IESE Business School, University of Maryland, HEC Paris Business School, and The Wharton School. Additionally, he holds a PhD in Law, Economics, and Business from the Universitat de Vic, with a thesis on inhabited structures and the practice of innovation.

Throughout his career, Fran has held key roles in several organizations. He was the Innovation Manager at SUEZ, where he strategically managed the innovation funnel and led expert teams to accelerate disruptive innovation. He has also served as the Open Innovation Project Manager at CETaqua, the water technology center of AGBAR, and collaborated with the Fundación CYD to promote knowledge transfer and R&D opportunities in Spain.

Fran has been an innovation mentor at the Imagine Creativity Center and has participated as a judge in open innovation initiatives such as Start4big, driven by CaixaBank, Naturgy, SEAT, Aigües de Barcelona, and Telefónica. Additionally, he has been a professor of Innovation and Strategy at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, where he has mentored master's theses in Business Analytics projects.

His commitment to innovation and his ability to lead projects and teams have earned him several recognitions, including the 40under40 award as one of the future leaders in the insurance sector and international awards from EFMA and SUEZ for his contributions to innovation.
