Shelly Kurtz has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Shelly co-founded X4Impact in 2019, an organization that provides a technology and data insights platform for nonprofits, governments, funders, and social innovators. Prior to that, in 2017, they co-founded Giving Tech Labs and served as the CMO, providing tech solutions and Go-To-Market strategies for social good. Shelly also co-founded and served as a board member for VidaNyx, a cloud-based solutions provider for Child Advocacy Centers, incubated at Giving Tech Labs.
Before their entrepreneurial ventures, Shelly worked as a senior executive in various roles. Shelly was the CMO of Giving Compass from 2017 to 2019, where they facilitated connections and actions related to philanthropy. Shelly also worked as a Sales & Marketing Executive Consultant for Startups and Fortune 500 companies at Vanver Consulting from 2016 to 2018.
In 2016, Shelly joined Make.TV as the Executive Director of Sales and Marketing and played a crucial role in doubling the client list within 8 months. Prior to that, they spent over a decade at NBCUniversal Media, LLC, starting as the Executive Director of Sales & Marketing, International Media Distribution in 2000. During their tenure, they oversaw marketing and communication for over 30 international television networks. Shelly also worked at Viacom as the Public Affairs Director for KSTW-TV, leading public relations and community outreach initiatives.
Shelly began their career in the media industry at CBS Radio, working in promotions for KMPS & KZOK. Shelly'sexperience includes managing multi-million dollar budgets, leading teams, and developing strategies for marketing, distribution, and sales. Shelly has a strong background in B2B and B2C marketing, creative design, sales training, and employee development.
Shelly Kurtz started their education at Central Catholic High School, from 1992 to 1994, where they obtained a high school diploma. Shelly then pursued their higher education at Pacific Lutheran University, from 1996 to 1998, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Communication/Public Relations and a minor in Spanish.
