Graduated from the London School of Economics, Sophie Lipinski first specialized in ecological issues by working alternately with a consulting firm specializing in issues of global warming in Africa and then for a think tank reflecting on solutions for the world of tomorrow. Quite quickly disenchanted by these for-profit structures far removed from the realities on the ground, she decided to embark on documentaries, in order to be able to raise awareness and act on her own scale. In January 2022, she completed the documentary filmmaking workshop at Ateliers Varan in Paris where she directed her first film, Blind Runner (30 min). Since then, she has been working on a feature film project on the Moulin d'Andé, a historic cultural center in Normandy which is also her childhood home. At the same time, she works in the distribution and promotion of Polish documentaries in France for the Polish production company Inbornmedia, and is in charge of development for the Cinema For Change festival, which takes place every year in Paris at the Grand Rex. She is also occasionally director's assistant for France Télévisions and a freelancer for Polish newspapers.
