Sonya Verheyden has been working in the marketing industry for over 25 years. Sonya started their career in 1995 at Noranda Inc., where they held various roles in Environmental Services, EH&S Audits & Donations. In 1997, they joined Motorola as Manager of Customer Quality - Commercial, Government & Industrial Solutions. In 2001, they moved to BlackBerry as VP Global Channel & Field Marketing. After that, they worked at Rogers Communications as VP Channel Marketing - Consumer from 2015 to 2017. From 2017 to 2018, they were Vice President Global Marketing & Partner Programs at SOTI. From 2018 to 2020, they held the role of Chief Marketing Officer at Acorn Biolabs. Currently, Sonya is VP Customer Success and Business Development at Premium Retail Services and VP Marketing at Videri Inc., a software and hardware platform for marketers.

Sonya Verheyden has a diverse educational background. Sonya began their studies in 1988 at Université Toulouse - Jean Jaurès, where they obtained a CEFE in French Language. Sonya then attended the University of Waterloo from 1989 to 1993 and obtained an Hon BA in Communications & French. In 1991-1992, they studied at the Université Paris-Sorbonne in French Linguistics and Literature. In 1994, they obtained an MA in French from the University of Waterloo. Sonya is currently in the process of obtaining a Doctorate in French from Western University, which they began in 1995.
