Mike Tan has a diverse range of professional experience, spanning from their time serving in the military to their most recent role as a Senior Engineer at ViewSonic.
In 2005, Mike served as a Corporal in the military until 2007. Following this, they joined Tatung as a Field Application Engineer, where they conducted software and hardware testing for Linux-based STB SDKs.
In 2009, Mike became a Senior Software Engineer at Yoko, where they focused on window-based surveillance application development and integration with IP cameras. During this time, they gained expertise in Microsoft Foundation Class, C++, RTP/RTSP streaming client, socket programming, multi-thread programming, and named pipes for watchdog.
Moving forward, Mike joined Acer in 2012 as a Senior Software Engineer, contributing to the AcerCloud Project. Here, they worked on Windows and Metro application development, including GUI and SDK with MFC.
Next, Mike joined Zyxel in 2015 as a Senior Cloud Engineer, working on the Nebula project. Their responsibilities involved implementing and maintaining Zyxel's Nebula project.
In 2019, Mike joined Delta Electronics as a Principal Engineer, where they were involved in system design for a government project focusing on smart street lights.
At Leedarson Group in 2019, Mike served as a Technical Manager and contributed to the company's AI service architect role.
Currently, Mike holds the position of Senior Engineer at ViewSonic, where they support the backend system and utilizes SRE methodology.
Mike Tan has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from Soochow University, which they obtained from 1999 to 2003. Mike further pursued their education and obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science and Information Engineering from National Taipei University of Technology from 2003 to 2005.
