Joe Gehring

Joe Gehring has a wealth of experience in the IT and cybersecurity fields. Joe began their career in 2009 as an IT2/Automated Data Processing Technician for the USS ELROD (FFG-55), where they administered GCCS-M, performed daily system backups, and conducted routine maintenance. In 2013, they took on the role of IT1/N6 LPO for Coastal Riverine Group TWO, where they utilized SharePoint 2010 to design and create the command public facing website, and provided first level technical support for NMCI NGEN. In 2018, they became a Lead Field Technician for General Dynamics Information Technology. In 2019, they were a Sr. Systems Administration Engineer for GE Aviation, and a Cybersecurity Systems Administrator for Alion Science and Technology. Most recently, in 2020, they have been an Endpoint Security Engineer for Vigilant.

Joe Gehring is currently pursuing a B.S in Cybersecurity at Bellevue University, which they are expected to complete in 2022. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity from Old Dominion University in 2020. Joe has also obtained three certifications: VCA6-DCV from VMware in 2017, CompTIA CySA+ in July 2022, and Security+ from CompTIA in 2018.
