Kristian Schmidt

CTO at VIKTOR

Kristian Schmidt has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Kristian started their career at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics as a Structural Design Engineer where they focused on reducing the overall airframe cost of the F-35 fighter aircraft. Kristian implemented various strategies such as part conversion, 3D printing, and workflow optimization, resulting in estimated cost savings of 3 million USD.

Kristian then worked at TU Delft as an Aerodynamicist, where they developed an aerodynamic model for a flying wing drone. Kristian used optimization techniques and wind tunnel testing to achieve low drag while maintaining stability. Additionally, at TU Delft, they also served as a CATIA Software Instructor, providing support and troubleshooting for computer-aided drawing software.

Kristian later joined MOCS as a Lead Engineer, where they specialized in engineering projects. Kristian then transitioned to the role of Project Engineer, handling various projects within the company.

Currently, they are working at VIKTOR as the CTO. Prior to this role, they were a Full Stack Developer and Team Lead, responsible for leading the development of a new product within the company. Kristian played a crucial role in platform architecture, code development, product steering, and team building.

Kristian Schmidt obtained their MSc degree in Aerospace Engineering with a specialization in Aerospace Structures and Design Methodologies from Delft University of Technology, where they studied from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed their BSc degree in Aerospace Engineering at the same university from 2005 to 2009. In addition to their formal education, Kristian also obtained certifications in Machine Learning and Econometrics: Methods and Applications from Coursera Course Certificates in March 2016 and February 2016, respectively.
