Evelyne Mkungo

Evelyne Mkungo has a diverse work experience in human resources and business management. Evelyne is currently working as the Vice President - People and Culture at Village Enterprise since April 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Freelance Human Capital and Business Management Consultant from July 2021 to April 2022. Evelyne also served as the Director, People at Bridge from January 2021 to June 2021. In 2019, Evelyne worked as the Culture Transformation Lead (Project) at Diageo Guinness Cameroon. Before that, they took a sabbatical leave and worked as a Senior Human Resources and Business Consultant as an entrepreneur. Evelyne gained significant experience at Microsoft where they held various roles including HR Projects Lead for West, East, and Central Africa from January 2018 to June 2018, and HR Lead for East and Southern Africa and Indian Ocean Islands from January 2015 to December 2017. Evelyne also worked at BD as a Human Resources Manager for East and West Africa, and as Country Site Leader for East Africa from September 2013 to December 2014. At Nestlé, they served as the Corporate Human Resources Manager for the Equatorial Africa Region from February 2008 to November 2008 and as an HR Business Partner for the Kenyan Cluster from June 2006 to January 2008. Evelyne started their career as a Human Resources Manager at Jordache Kenya EPZ Limited from January 2003 to May 2006.

Evelyne Mkungo has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Political Sciences from the University of Nairobi. Evelyne also holds an MBA in Strategic Management and a Diploma in Business Management, both from the University of Nairobi. In addition to their formal education, Evelyne has obtained several certifications, including Certification Prep: Professional in Human Resources (PHR®), Human Resources: Leadership and Strategic Impact, and Ram Charan on Coaching High Potentials, all from LinkedIn. The certifications were obtained in May 2020.
