Mike Schwarz, AICP has extensive experience in community and economic development, planning, and zoning. Mike has held roles as the Director of Community and Economic Development for the Village of Frankfort and the Village of Brookfield, where they managed various functions such as planning and zoning, economic development, building permits, property maintenance, and inspections. Prior to that, Mike served as the Director of Planning for the City of Joliet, overseeing long-range planning and development review. Mike also held positions as the Director of Planning and Zoning for the Village of Homer Glen and as a Planner for the Village of Bartlett. Additionally, Mike has worked as a Planner III (Senior Planner) for the City of Davenport and as a Planner II (Senior Planner) for the Village of Plainfield, IL. Mike began their career as a Planning & Entitlement Coordinator for Location Finders International, Inc., and as a Community Planner for the City of Naperville. Mike's expertise and experience make him a valuable asset in urban planning and community development initiatives.
Mike Schwarz, AICP has a Master of Urban Planning and Policy degree from the University of Illinois Chicago, which they obtained from 1995 to 1999. Their field of study during this period focused on Physical Planning and International Planning. Prior to that, from 1990 to 1992, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
