Shubhra Govind has extensive work experience in the field of community and economic development. Shubhra began their career in 1993 as a Planner for the City of Cincinnati. From there, they worked as a Development Review Planner for the Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission. In 1998, they joined the Village of Northbrook as a Senior Planner, where they worked until 2003. Shubhra then transitioned to the City of St. Charles, where they served as a Senior Planner until 2007. At that point, Govind became the Director of Community Development for the Village of Villa Park until 2011. In 2013, they held the position of Interim Director of Community Development for the City of Highland Park before moving on to the role of Director of Community and Economic Development for the Village of Hanover Park, a position they presently hold.
Shubhra Govind holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Shubhra pursued their higher education at the University of Cincinnati, where they obtained a Master's degree in Community Planning from 1990 to 1992. Additionally, they hold a certification as an AICP Certified professional from the American Institute of Certified Planners, which they obtained in June 1996.
