Scott Mangum has extensive experience in urban planning and community development. Scott'smost recent position was as the Community Development Director at the Village of Lincolnwood. Prior to that, they served as the Planning and Zoning Manager for the City of Evanston from 2016 to 2020. Scott also worked as a Coordinating Planner for the City of Chicago's Department of Planning and Development in 2016. From 2008 to 2016, Scott worked as a Senior Planner for the City of Des Plaines. Scott has also held positions as a Planner I-III for the City of Long Beach and a Research Assistant at the University of Southern California. Additionally, Scott has experience as an Urban Planner/Grant Writer at WLCAC - Watts Labor Community Action Committee and as a Research Specialist at COWS - Center on Wisconsin Strategy.
Scott Mangum received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Sociology with a focus on Afro-American studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1997. Scott then went on to pursue a Master of Planning (MPL) in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning at the University of Southern California from 2000 to 2002. In January 2006, Scott obtained certification as an AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners) Certified planner.
