Dinh Phung

Dinh Phung serves as the Head of Department for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and as a Professor of Machine Learning at Monash University since June 2018. Additionally, Dinh holds the position of Research Director within the same department. Since January 2021, Dinh has also been a Senior Consultant and Principal Scientist at VinAI Research. Prior roles include serving as AI Chief Scientist at Trusting Social from June 2017 to November 2020 and as a Professor at Deakin University from February 2012 to June 2018, where Dinh specialized in machine learning, statistical graphical models, and multimedia. Dinh was also the founding Deputy Director of the Centre for Pattern Recognition and Data Analytics at Deakin University during the same period. From February 2005 to January 2012, Dinh worked as a Senior Research Fellow at Curtin University of Technology and briefly held the title of International Research Fellow at SRI International in 2006. Dinh Phung earned education credentials from Curtin University and PTTH Lê Khiet.
