Brent M. Burton

Brent M. Burton is a seasoned professional in library and information science with extensive experience in research and reference services. Currently serving as a Senior Research Analyst at Vinson & Elkins since May 2023, Brent previously held the position of Reference Services Manager for the Americas at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP from March 2003 to June 2023. Brent's earlier roles include Legislative Librarian and Library Reference Services Manager, along with positions at The National Press Club as a Reference Librarian and Information Technology Specialist, and Debevoise & Plimpton as a Library Assistant. Initial experience also includes a Junior Fellow position at the Library of Congress and an Education Intern role at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature from Virginia Tech.
