Nan Shen

Nan Shen is a Data Scientist at Viome since November 2019, focusing on the investigation of the association between the microbiome and diseases. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Assistant at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where a novel feature-based method for clustering microbiota abundance was developed. As a Data Science Fellow at Insight Data Science, a web application for analyzing beauty product reviews was launched. Academic credentials include a PhD in Genetics and Data Science from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, a Master's degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Stony Brook University, and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Sichuan University.
