Derick du Preez

Derick du Preez has a diverse work experience in the fitness industry, primarily with Virgin Active. Derick started their career with Virgin Active in 2008 as a Regional General Manager and later served as the Operations Director for Virgin Active South Africa. In 2013, they took on the role of COO for Virgin Active RED. Derick then joined Viva Gym SA in 2016 as the Chief Operating Officer and became the Managing Director in 2017. In 2020, they returned to Virgin Active as the Customer Experience Director and currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer.

Derick du Preez completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sports Science (Hons) from the University of the Free State in the years 1994 to 1998. Prior to that, they attended Staatspresident Swart from 1989 to 1993. In 2016, Derick attended the University of Cape Town for Executive Coaching.
