Melissa Wood Enp

Melissa Wood, ENP, currently serves as the NGS Bureau Outreach Manager at the Virginia Department of Emergency Management since August 2018. Prior to this role, Melissa held positions at the City of Fredericksburg Police Department, including Communications Manager and Communications Supervisor, where responsibilities involved managing the Emergency Communications Center and supervising staff. Melissa began their career in emergency services as a Medic I with the City of Fredericksburg Fire Department and as a Firefighter/EMT with King George Fire and Rescue, Inc. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice/Human Services from Old Dominion University and an Associate’s Degree in Police Science and General Studies from Germanna Community College.
