Shontey Wells has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Shontey began their career at Community Based Corrections as a Volunteer in 2012. Shontey then went on to work at Virginia Premier as a Member Operations Rep I, where they educated members on available services and resources, verified eligibility, scheduled transportation, and provided referral requests for outside specialists. In 2012, they joined GEICO as a Claims Representative II, and in 2014, they became an Assistant Operations Manager at ChenMed. Shontey'snext role was at Community Loans of America, where they served as a Branch Manager from 2017 to 2019. Currently, Shontey is working at The Port of Virginia as a Project Management Assistant.
Shontey Wells has a diverse educational background. Shontey completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Criminal Justice/Sociology from Old Dominion University from 2009 to 2012. Shontey then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance at Stratford University, where they studied from 2014 to 2016. Additionally, Shontey obtained another Master's degree in Criminal Justice and Social Science from Saint Leo University from 2012 to 2014. Prior to these degrees, they earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Social Sciences from Tidewater Community College, where they attended from 2006 to 2009.
In terms of certifications, Shontey holds a Transportation Worker Indentification Credential (TWIC) which they obtained from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in January 2019. Shontey also possesses a CompTIA Security+ certification from Freewater Technologies, obtained in March 2018, as well as a Security+Ce designation from CompTIA, also obtained in March 2018.
