Otto Kretzer has extensive experience in technology security and engineering, currently serving as a Sr. Technology Security Engineer at the Virginia Retirement System since September 1997. In this role, Otto designs, develops, and executes risk reduction strategies based on recognized best security practices, collaborating with technology staff, auditors, and management to improve enterprise security programs. Prior to this position, Otto worked as a Computer Engineer at Chesterfield County from September 1995 to September 1997. Otto's career began in the US Army from 1983 to 1992, where significant responsibilities included performing ammunition supply stock control and accounting duties, and supervising related tasks, while also serving in various roles within the Decentralized Automated Service Support System (DAS3) and as the NCOIC of the Fort Hood Ammunition Supply Point.
