Jud Skinker

Jud Skinker has over 30 years of experience in various roles related to information security, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning. Jud is currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer at the Virginia Community College System since February 2019, where they previously held the position of Senior Information Security Officer. Prior to this, Jud worked as an independent consultant, specializing in IT disaster recovery, and developed recovery methodologies and plans for healthcare insurance providers. Jud also worked as a Continuity Professional at Virginia State University, where they provided strategic planning and development of continuity and IT disaster recovery plans. Jud has also held consultant roles at Intellizant LLC and SAIC, as well as analyst roles at Business Guard, Inc. and LandAmerica Financial Group. Earlier in their career, they served as a Data Center Manager at OAO Technology Solutions and as a Project Architect at Moseley Architects. Jud also has experience in software training and management roles at ExecuTrain.

Jud Skinker has a Master of Information Technology degree with a focus on Information Technology and Database Design from Virginia Tech. Jud also holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree in Architecture and Environmental Design from the same institution. Additionally, they are a Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM) obtained from ISACA in January 2017 and a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) obtained from DRI International in September 2007.
