Sian Sweeney

Sian Sweeney currently serves as a Senior Scientist in Manufacturing at Virocell Biologics, a CDMO focused on producing viral vectors and gene-modified cells for cell and gene therapies, starting in August 2021. Previously, Sian held the position of Production Scientist at Autolus Ltd. and worked as a Graduate Scientist/Engineer at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. during a rotational program encompassing roles such as Downstream Bioprocessing Specialist. An Erasmus internship was completed at Annecy SYMME, involving research on perovskite materials for bio-imaging. Earlier experiences include customer service roles at Nando's South Africa, Associazione Culturale Linguistica Educational as an English Tutor, and the Dragon Hotel. Sian's educational background includes a Certificate in Process and Chemical Engineering from University College Cork and a Bachelor of Science in Science with Nanotechnology from Technological University Dublin.
